A NEW CONCEPT










The BICYCLE SHOP, inc. has morphed into a brand new type of business.  Instead of the traditional retail store, like we have had since 1999, our focus has shifted gears to suit the needs of those who desire a level of knowledge and service beyond the ordinary.  

Our years of selling bikes to riders of all ages and abilities have been rewarding and it has given us valuable insight into the direction our business should go right now.  We feel that it is time to concentrate on what we do best.  Our energy will now be devoted solely to selling and servicing high quality bicycles, tandems, recumbents and exercise bikes.  Our time will be scheduled by appointments in order to allow our full attention to be devoted to each client.  We will also be able to cater to your needs better by offering you the option of meeting with you in your home or office.  But… our time is limited.

During the process of restructuring the Bicycle Shop, inc., Jim was approached with the opportunity to help develop and grow the upper end market for road bikes, tandems and recumbents at another bike shop.  The owner, Phil, is a good friend and is actually the person who gave Jim his first job in the bicycle business.  The business has grown over the years and is now located in a beautiful 16,000 square foot facility.   To make a long story short, Phil needs Jim’s expertise  AND he’s willing to share him.   Jim’s time is now split between Bicycle World in Florence, South Carolina and our Bicycle Shop in Ohio.

We realize this is an entirely new concept, but we are very excited about the possibilities.  We also realize that we will no longer be able to serve the bicycle needs of some of our faithful customers.  We encourage you to find another local bike shop and support them with your patronage if our new concept does not meet your needs. 

As we begin this new phase in our lives, we want to thank our past customers for making our business a success.  Your support and encouragement has been wonderful.  We invite you to browse through our newly designed website and contact us via e-mail if we can assist you with any of our current services.  And, if you are traveling through Florence, South Carolina (located at I-95 & I-20, about an hour from Myrtle Beach) stop by Bicycle World!
